The Office of Inclusive Excellence mission is to create a culturally engaging community at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) that promotes inclusion and belonging through educational, programmatic, and pedagogical practices.

As a minority serving institution, NJIT’s Office of Inclusive Excellence vision is to foster an understanding and appreciation of globally diverse perspectives where we cultivate a culture of acceptance of and for everyone in an educational environment grounded in research and lived experiences. This is achieved through an outcome-based approach grounded in these core values:

  • Creating a sense of belonging for everyone
  • Promoting student success and engagement
  • Enhancing employee engagement and satisfaction
  • Fostering shared responsibility and collaboration
  • Developing an awareness of one another using educational tools
